Thursday nights in Chelsea are reserved for art gallery opening receptions, and this week brought street art culture to the spotlight. After a busy day at work, a little happy hour fun and live art show was exactly what I needed. But first: a walk through the neighborhood.

Do you recognize the above style, from my recent post featuring Kenny Scharf? See "The Funky Jungle" here if you haven't already!

My first stop was Juxtapoz magazine's 20th anniversary celebration at the Jonathan Levine gallery. Named "Art Truancy", the two Jonathan Levine galleries are featuring pieces from iconic artists of the magazine's past 20 years. Which one is your favorite?!

What you see above and much more is on exhibit at Jonathan Levine Galleries from now through June 14th.

Check back this weekend for the second half of my adventure, featuring an old school, classic grafitti artist that also had his opening reception tonight. Bonus points to anyone that can guess who!
