THE WEDNESDAY BLUES

Last night I somehow occupied myself with making plans for the weekend, and naturally woke up this morning thinking it was Friday. When I realized it wasn't, I decided to stay in bed an extra 30 minutes to cope.

In all seriousness, this weather is exhausting. Is it winter? Is it spring? It's surely not exactly in between. Today is in the high 50s, tonight it's raining, and tomorrow is in the teens. I want to pack away my winter coats, but I also don't want to freeze!

Today's backdrop is the beautiful Lincoln Center. It's close enough to my apartment that I pass it often, but the steps leading up to this massive fountain and empty plaza never gets old. Well, actually, it's only empty in the winter.

This mid-50s weather was the perfect time to rotate out some of my heavier coats. This is one of my all time favorites, because there are so many ways to wear it! The collar is so big that I can use it as a hood/umbrella in emergency rain situations. Like the one that happened just hours after these pictures were taken! I got this coat in 2012 on clearance for $40 from a TJ Maxx, with no tag inside. But I think the real reason I love it so much is that I got to break it in while in Paris for two weeks. All of my pictures from the City of Lights are in this coat...and ah!!  I miss it so much.

I'm also wearing a Cynthia Rowley top with ruched sleeves (see below for the detail!). Royal blue, black, and white is another one of my signature color combinations--circa 2009 and joining a royal blue & white sorority!

Also pictured above: silver Michael Kors watch, Rastaclat elephant print bracelet, and Brahmin handbag.

& pictured below: Hamsa necklace & Obey necklace. I love love love layering my necklaces---one is rarely enough.

Last but not least, I'm wearing Mossimo booties (sidenote: I realized I have way more shoes from Target than expect, considering I go maybe once a year. That's just how durable and high quality their shoes are--comfortable and NYC walking approved!!) and a skater skirt from Necessary Clothing. More info below...
